Do any of you Yamaha owners happen to know what the "2D" stands for on a 1977 XS360 Yamaha, as in" XS3602D " ?..

I'd guess it's a color code. Is it maroon by chance?

Yeah, could be a year change code. Thanks, I'll keep digging.
One thing I've noticed about a lot of these manufacture designations on all their bikes - is- you need a code book to figure them out !!!

Nope,that wasn't it. My latest info is :The 2-D has disc front, drum rear brakes, and kick start start only, vs. model with front and rear disc brakes, electric start.
