Default Running to hot?

Hi everyone.

I have a 2000 Yamaha TTR 225 and notice last year that the head pipe was running very hot. I started it up and reved the engine a couple of times and it was glowing "BRIGHT RED" I shut it off, cleaned the carburator, and it did the same thing. Now being a 4-stroke, I didn't think it would run that hot. Now I am stumped! Is that normal? I am thinking I might have to do a valve adjustment but I am not positive. Any feedback would be very helpful.

It might be running lean but how do I adjust it. And it glows red during warm up.
