| I just bought a virago 700, and been having trouble with starting. i first thought i had a problem with the battery, it would not engage the starter and crank. I bought a battery and put it in, cranked right up, well i have gone on 3 rides, and only cranked it 10 times. Today i went for a ride, cranked right up went 100 miles, so my wife and i stopped to get gas. got gas and a snack, when we got ready to go i put the key in and tryed to crank it, nothing but click click click. stopped a minute tryed again same thing. the third time no sound nothing. so i had to roll start it, it cranked and we went back. on the way back i stopped by my parents house. cut it off took out the key, five minutes later i had to roll start it again. What could this be??? its a new battery so im a little confused?? thanks robert PS im new to this motorcycle thing so i need all the help i can get, my wife and i got bikes the first of the week and been riding all weekend so im not very knowledgeable about them. |

| Hello! I also have a virago and from what i know they are famous for starter problems. Your best thing to do is take off your starter. and jump it across your battery or battery charger to see if you can get starter to spin over freely. if you can you have a charging problem if not look at replacing your starter. Hope this gets you back on the road again. Most likely check your starter!!
