Default How to properly clean a Kaw Vul 900 Classic Lt.

I will be purchasing a vulcan 900 classic lt tomorrow. What is the proper way to clean it. This is my first motorcycle at 56 years of age. Is there something to spray on the spoke wheels, what about wax, I use mothers 3 step wax on my car, can you use it on the bike. Should you wash it with the hose, are there places where you shouldn't spray water. What about the leather, is there some kind of conditioner you should put on it. Any and all tips would be appreciated.

tks - Dannie

I'd be careful about being aggressive with water; there are lots of little nooks and crannies that have electrical connections that could get corroded.

do like I do, ride the bike in the rain from time to time, it ought to stay clean enough.

but that's just me.

I try not to water wash very often, most times I will use a cleaner wax.

Lemon Pledge, best cleaner I've ever used....I'll wash and wax my bike with water once every couple of months or so, as it could cause electrical problems if done too frequently. Lemon pledge cleans everything in between washes, allows water to bead and run off without streaking. Works on the windshield and chrome too...

It did a good job cleaning, but I found that it left a film on the black paint that was hard to remove.
