| Good day all, I have a 2008 Kawi Vulcan 900 Classic LT. It's a great bike. I have but 2500 km (1500 miles) on it. Have any of you found the bike to be noisy. That is, when taking off, running up RPM's, or jut coasting. You hear the rumble of the engine & exhausts which sound good but you also hear a type of "whistling" sound. Higher pitched. It sounds like it comes from the trany area. Thanks, Denis |

| Denis It seems almost all Kawi Vulcans are rather noisy, whether it's the engine/tranny or the belt drive (mostly VN 2000's,but some 900's too.). I owned a 1600 Classic and now have the V2K LT, and both of those bikes are noisy. If you go to the kawasakimotorcycle site, you'll read lots of posts about this. It does'nt affect the performance and most times the noises get quieter after the bikes warm-up. My guess would be that your drive belt may be too tight, which is a problem I had with mine. After it was adjusted, the whistle/squeal went away.

| Good day Bob, Thank you for the information. I suspected that things would probably be normal. It pitches up and down with gearing and RPM. It certaining sounds like it comes from the tranny area. Had it checked by two independent dealers and they both said it was normal. The bike is new so I wanted to make sure nothing was wrong while it was still on warranty. On another note. I got a ding on my exhaust pipe from a rock. Do you know if there is some chrome touch ups for such things. Not sure if it will rust or not, but I'd like to get it before it does. ------------------------ Stay in the light Denis |
