| Ive seen 3 vulcan 900's now with a 230mm tire on the stock rear wheel. Many people say this isn't safe but everyone seems to love the look. whats the largest tire that would safely fit on the stock wheel?

| It's normally accepted that a 10mm increase is about it. Much more than that and you're deforming the tire to a shape it wasn't intended to have. Of course, plenty of people substitute appearance for safety and sense. YMMV.

| Newbie | I think a 200mm would be fine. I know many who have this but some say if you have the front overdrive pulley from scoot works then there is fit issues. Ive seen a couple 230's on the stock rim and to me it looks goofy... the tire is not nearly low profile enough and the sides stick over the rim edge so far that it looks like its about to explode. |

| Newbie | What happens is that with the front pulley (I just got mine installed last night) takes more belt to go around so the rear tire moves forward and you have less clearance to the front edge/front of rear fender. So moving up from the 180/70 to 200/70 becomes an issue because you can't move the tire back to clear the fender, UNLESS you get a longer belt, and I am not sure if the perfect size is available. The OEM rear is 180/70-15. The 200/70 would be taller. A 200/65 would be wider but as tall as the OEM which should clear the clearance issue... On the topic, I think the oem rim goes to 200/70 safely 230 is on that bleeding edge. Some go there, others don't. The one 230 I have seen around here DOES NOT have the OEM rim.
