| Hey guys, I just purchased a new 05 C50T. My only complaint is that it is too quiet. Have any of you swapped pipes out yet and if so did you also have to add a power commander to adjust fuel mapping? Oops...and what pipes did you switch to and were they louder? I checked out Vance Hines and they told me the straight shots and cruzers model of pipes for the C50 put out the same number of decibals.....One of my friends suggested jardine since they have a set of pipes for the C50 for 199.00 but for that price i question the quality. I don't want to put alot of money into this bike for aftermarked accessories...My sportbikes suck up the extra $$. After more then 16 years on sportbikes this is my first cruiser bike and i wanted it for pleasure riding/commuting to work while i heal up from my latest accident.

| I swapped my stock pipes for Vance & Hines straight shots and I love 'em! I was one who believed that if all you're changing is pipes then you don't need a FI computer. But after riding for a while with the new pipes I now know that I was wrong, putting in the Power Commander really made my bike ride better after the exhaust change. Now I'm running with the StraightShots and a K&N filter with the Power Commander III USB and I am loving life! The sound out of these pipes is just incredible! and they look great too! I put Vortex tips on mine, had a little bit of trouble getting one of the tips to fit in, but it was worth it! here's a couple of pics of the new pipes installed: ![]() ![]()

| looks nice....bout what i figured.....the last couple of years i've become lazy and cheap with my sportbikes and have added only slip-ons to avoid needing the PC III

| Pongo, you might want to look at the Hard Krome pipes. I just put on staggered straights and the bike sounds loud and nice. Check Oneideasuzuki.com. great deals. I found these pies for a lot less than anywhere else on the internet.

| I have a Vol, but I did add the Straight Shots. I really like the sound a qualtiy. I do have another friend that has the HK American Straights. They are a bit shorter, and the pipes are eqaul length. They are also a bit deeper sounding, in my opinion. I might have gotten these if I had heard them first. I got a great deal on mine, though. Two hundred dollars from a guy who thought they were too loud. His loss! On the topic of the Cruzers, all the opinions I've read state they are mainly louder when you are laying into it a bit, but they are quieter at start and idle. You'll have to get the opinions of the re-map from the fuel injected crowd. I'm in the last year of the Carb, with my '04! |

| Alot of us on here now have the jardines...they're not low quality, they're the same as the vance and hines for alot less. I believe someone on this forum even said they're manufactered from the same factory. Ive seen and heard the v&h in person and while my bike is running, both sound the same.

| Well UPS delivered the new pipes from Jardine today...Install didn't take but about 30 minutes. Impressed with the quality for the price. They sound much better vs the stock at idle and on the throttle but i was hoping for a little louder..(probably should have bought the C90 then...lol) anyway i took it for a test ride and the butt dyno didn't really register much of a performance difference...that could be helped with a PCIII but for now i'll ride without one because it still feels the same and i only changed the exhaust for better sound and visuals.....Biggest savings was in weight...damn that stock system was heavier then ****e!!! probably about 20lbs difference...the best thing is it is now Friday afternoon and the beer is cold!! cheers

Those are for the Hard Krome pipes. They have the best pirces I have ever seen for that brand. I got my "Kickers" for $404....$410 included shipping. I have seen other brands of pipes and in my opinion the HK pipes are the best you can get.

| blackie....not yet....it has been my experience that K&N doesn't really offer more flow then OEM...the only advantage is in the reusability and in many cases the flow is more restricted because people that switch to an "oiled" filter usually don't clean it as often as they should (IMHO it has to be done every oil change). usually if someone claims to "feel" a performance increase with a air filter change it is most likely because the filter they had on the bike was already clogged and restricting flow and the "aledged" performance increase would have been realized with an OEM replacement......don't get me wrong.....i don't have anything against K&N...i use them on my trucks and i've used them on my other bikes......the BMC race filter has been the only one that i have felt a difference in performance by switching to it but i would never recommend that filter for anything but track use because it lets too many particles through for street riding.......this bike has the easiest access to the filter vs any other bike i've owned...(on my sportbikes they have always been under the gas tank which made cleaning/changing at least a two beer job....

| resetting the computer works! I installed my straightshots, rode, reset computer, rode better. It makes a difference in the highend, but less torque on the lowend.
