I have a lot of people say it sounds like a Harley going down the road, and a few that say it looks like a Harley. I came out of a resturaunt one day and there were a bunch of guys standing around my bike looking at it and they asked me what is was. When I said a Volusia they said is that a Harley? At first they didn't believe me when I said Suzuki. The only thing that says Suzuki is the little emblem on the tripple tree between the handlebars on my Volusia Limited Edition. It just says Volusia on the side covers.

I have been asked if mine was a harley a couple of times, but thought it was funny the other day when I pulled up next to this guy on a Honda Davidson.

It was a Honda Shadow he had pulled all the bedges, etc off and put a bunch of after market items with the Harley symbol on them. It was as if he wanted people to think he was on a Harley. I had a hard time not laughing at him. If you want a Harley that bad, then go buy one.

A fellow where I work said "That's a nice Harley" . " What model is it"? I told him it was a Suzuki (with courtesy. I have absolutely nothing against Harleys).
He then said "I don't like the bike , I just like the styling".

HUH?

Incidentally, I need to change my picture. I don't wany anyone to get the wrong idea. I do wear all the gear. That was just a picture moment.

Happy Holidays

Yeah, I have had quite a few folks think my bike was a Harley, fully badged and all. I confess I do like letting them know it's not a Harley..

Smile nice Harley

What's even better is the times I have had Harley riders come over and say " what a nice bike! What is it? " Nobody, but nobody, has given anything but nice compliments on my C50C.

One woman actually had the nerve to say that she was surprised to see a black guy on a Harley.

Unbelievable she called it a Harley. The nerve.

I get the Harley thing from time to time. God help the ignorant.

I heard most cruiser-styled bikes referred to as Harley's - more often than not by non-riders.

Seems to be common 'master-brand' thing across a lot of different industries. I also used to hear "nice jeep" a lot in reference to my overbuilt Suzuki Samurai (and for some reason older bronco/etc owners get the same comments).
