Default C50 Suspension

The bike comes with a factory setting of 3, but has anyone changed their suspension and noticed a positive difference?

lowered mine to 2... get a smoother ride...dont feel the bumps as much...I weigh 190 lbs....no passenger at this time... would have to raise adjustment with additional rider..spoke to service department at dealer and they said it would support my weight there... sure gives a softer ride

Factory setting of 3? Mine came with a setting of 4. After 1000 miles of being bounced off the seat I lowered it to 3. Great difference.
Perhaps I'll try 2? I'm a little concerned at passing the point where temporary comfort overides safety and handeling. I guess just trial and error?

Any of the 800 class cruisers will be fine.

Factory setting seems to be either 3 or 4. Mine came set at 4, but I see others were at 3. I'd give it a run at the factory setting and see how it feels. If it's a little mushy, bump it up a notch (to 4 or 5).

wassup,

Just bought a used volusia and didn't come with a manual. How do you do the adjustments for the rear suspension?? Don't mean to sound stupid but I am kinda new to motorcycles. Thx for any help.

Bumped mine up tp 5. I usually ride two up, about 350lbs combined weight. Rides great.

I adjust by removing the L side cover then remove the tool box housing to expose the shock. Your tool kit comes w/ a special wrench to adjust the shock. I put a piece of pipe on the handel of the wrench for better leverage.
Some people raise the rear of the bike to make it a bit easier to adjust, but if you have a long enough piece of pipe, you really don't need to.

Hrmmm , I lowered mine two inches and moved the shock pre-load up to 4 as suggested and now that I think about it I get a little rougher ride but two up it's as smooth as glass and the little woman only weighs in at about a buck 10...I may play around w/ it and go back down to 3...
