All these unnecessary concerns about "OVER-REVVING" the bike, is truly unfounded. The unnecessary time, toil and expense of adding a "DJ Drive" or any other form of add on to "REDUCE THE RPM'S" at speed is truly unnecessary, and is personal preferrence, not a need for this bike to run and run reliably. Case In Point: I have a 2005 C50T, it now has 21,000 miles of very hard driven miles on it, I typically ride at around 80 to 85 mph, (don't mistake hard driven as un-taken care of, the bike has been very well taken care of) This is not a harley that needs to be lugged around for longevity, this is a Suzuki designed v-twin, designed to run at higher rpm's, I have not had any mechanical problems from running it at higher rpm's, anyways, this year I was looking to buy another bike, and I was looking at larger bikes but in the end I decided to buy another C50T, a 2009 Suzuki Boulevard C50T (I'm keeping the 05 to go thrashing, I am going to see just how reliable this Suzuki is, and I will report back here from time to time) ![]() I typically go riding with a friend that rides a GIXXER 1000, he doesn't end up waiting too long for me to catch up, I also ride with a friend that rides a Custom VTX 1800, he is constantly surprised that in general I keep up with him except in the long straights, I do out corner him, My best friend just this year bought a used 2007 Boulevard C50T for general everyday riding because for 5 seasons he has ridden beside mine on his Custom with a built Harley engine with air-ride suspension noticing that in general ride I was riding a smoother more comfortable ride, (although I did finally find out that he can some-what out power me to a point, it took 3 seasons of antagonzing to find out) since he bought the C50T he hasn't ridden his Custom, even on the spring flood run, which very much surprised me! What I am trying to do in this thread is to bring a knowledge base to the many concerns about running this bike in the higher rpm's, I also understand the people who just can't get past it, but it truly is unfounded, so you need to know and others need to know that it is your personal preferrence or your unwillingness to be at ease that this bike can take it and is designed for it, it is not based on what truly is a fact. One more fact, I am not a Suzuki or C50T Fanboy, typically Suzuki is not known for their excellent customer service, or their willingness to fix a problem under warranty, they are however very well known for building very dependable, reliable, somewhat warranty issue free bikes (yes like any other manufacturer they do and have shipped out lemons, and unfortunately the person who ended up with that lemon found out how difficult it can be to work with Suzuki on those issues). |
