Default M50 Bars on a C50

My wife has a C50 and I think the pullback on the handlebar is too much and it's too wide. I think she's sitting too upright and does not have as much control of the bike as she should. This is causing her to be anxious when she rides.

I have an M50 and it gives me a slight forward lean. I'm thinking of getting an M50 bar (or aftermarket bar with 10-11" of pullback) to replace hers. This would force her upper body forward and I'm guessing it would give her more control and more confidence. Has anybody done this? If so, how did it turn out?

How much experience does she have? I find sitting more upright give me better control on my C50, which is why risers with pull backs sell so well, plus relives pain and discomfort that is caused by hunching over.

Of course everyone has their own preference.

My elbows and shoulders seem to hurt after a while. Will these risers help with that?

It has helped my shoulders but I never had problems with elbows. One of the problems on standard cruiser you are hunched over to reach the bars, and without risers it kill my shoulders, and between my shoulder blades.

I need to get some for my 08 C50C, but I have not gotten around to it yet. In 2007 Suzuki shortened the cables a little so I have not felt like moving the cables to the other side of the triple tree so I can put risers on. I had 4 inch risers with 2 inch pull back on the Honda.

She's been riding for quite a while. The C50 is fairly new to her and heavier than what she's used to. I think a little forward lean will give her more of a feeling of control over the bike.

The more upright I am the more control I have, and the more comfortable I am. If I feel I need to lean forward then I lean forward.

Once she gets use to it I am sure she will be fine. I say give it time before you spend money for the bars just to cange them back. As I said earlier, each person prefers something differnt. Some people likes broom stick bars and ape bars, and I do not think I would like either.

Has your wife rode your M50?

If you put the M50 bars on the bike I think she is going to be more uncomfortable. The risers on the M are different so if you put the M bars on the C she will be reaching much further forward than you do on the M.
