Default Rear Stabilizer Adjustment

I am a lone rider, wife will never be on the back, and never will have that much of a load on the back. Do I need to adjust the rear stabilizer from factory default? Do not know if that will improve my ride or not, and I am not currently having any problems.

Search for topics about setting sag. I assume you're talking about the rear shock/spring assembly.

Yes I am. Sorry about the terminology.

So use setting sag as the keywords?

Lemme take a look.

Edit: I didn't find it with a quick search, but here's a page I often refer to. Maybe some M owners can tell you what has been a good setting, too.

I recently raised mine from the factory 3 to a 6 or maybe it was 7. Regardless, it was a great change.

I'm riding an 06 M50...and did it to try and get the wife on...but am already glad I did it as the ride seems much nicer.

Thanks Clinch I will look at that

Apertureguy, what is your weight if you do not mind me asking. Twixer seems to be close to my weight and enjoys it more 1 under factory setting, but you like it to the top.

I guess it is like mattresses, some like a frim mattress and others like a soft one.

I guess it is like a mattress...I weigh about 200 give or take 5 Lbs either way.

I put a good 15k miles on mine at the factory setting. Like I said I recently changed it up, and I don't think it's any stiffer, but it kinda feels that way...or maybe because there's a bit more room for it to travel?

Beats me...but I've enjoyed the change and I haven't even gotten the wife to sit on it yet. But that's because she recently broke a foot.

Look at it this way...take a ride...then change it and take the same ride. Which did you like better?

That is what I will do.

So your wife broke her foot? She will do anything to get out of riding with you huh? LOL

My wife and I have a good understanding. I do not want her on my bike, and she does not want to get on the bike. She aced her back seat drivers test, and if I had her on the back of the bike I might push her off. LOL
