Default c50 fuel processor help..

I have a friend that bought a new c50. It has an off idle miss, it agrevates him bad because its at the barely off idle point which is the point at where you cruise at. he called the dealer and they said they all do it and the only way to get rid of it is to buy a fuel processor and pay them 400 bucks to write a program for it! Now, cant you buy those cobra fuel processors with programs already in them so you don't have to pay the dealer 400 bux to write a program for it? I was thinking they already came with the processor and you could also download programs from the web? any help would be appreciated!
thanks

Yet another clueless dealer service department.

The C50 guys will be by shortly but I wouldn't accept that answer. I think I'd be considering a call to Suzuki or looking for a different dealer......or both.

Some FI bikes don't have an idle stop adjustment; if the C50 DOES have one, then a little tweek of the idle speed might make things a lot better.

Get a diff. dealer.

But if you want to improve your ride, go to VolusiaRiders.com :: Home

In the Help thread, you will find info on G-man industries, a member who makes parts for the C50. He has a FI processor, called the Bully, combined with a K&N air cleaner that is adjustable on the fly.
I think your friend might be happy with that setup.

I put a Cobra FI2000R on my otherwise stock '08 C50T, made all the difference in the world just as it came set from Cobra. Completely stopped the lean surging and spitting at off-idle transition. Made a good bike great! If you don't have any intentions of modding the intake system, the Cobra works fine and is half the price of the Bully...

Default Cobra Fi2000.

I also installed an Fi2000 not the Fi2000r. The 2000 uses t-tap connectors to tap into the wires behind the rightside cover. The 2000r uses direct connectors to the injectors themselves, this requires removal of the tank. But as for curing the lean aspect of the Suzuki C50 it was great. I also drilled the air box cover w/2 - 1" holes to allow cool air entry. Installed Jardine 2 - 2 drag pipes, but even without the air box mod and pipes I'd still recommend the Fi2000 just to aid in bikes performance. By the why I got mine from Oneida Suzuki and paid around $150. for it...good investment IMO..

I had noticed that my '07 c50 surges at slow speeds, and thought something was wrong, but I ignored it because other than that the bike is flawless with 7,000 miles. Then as I read in this thread, this is not a unique problem. Plus I goggled the problem and learned its common. I have gotten used to it and have learned to live with it, but my question is: Other than being annoying, does it harm anything? I am not into buying things, if no harm is being done. Maybe I'll have cash next year, to make the annoying factor go away.

Your ride like most others, that are stock, is likely running a little lean. This tends to raise the cyl temps. Stock it's not likely to cause any problems, just do not alter the intake side. i.e...K&N filter, drilling the air box cover. I was simply changing pipes and wanted to evently install a K&N filter and boost performance just a little. That's my reason for the FI processor. With the FI processor you should notice some performance gains by simply making the engine operate more efficently. The surge should be able to be tuned out. Just my 2 cents.....

Dry Toast....Try it first..A K&N is my only mod and it works fine without a processor. My pipes and plugs indicated the bike was running slightly rich and the filter straightened it out. It runs and sounds better.

Dry Toast... Twixer had no problems but do read your plugs if you install a K&N filter to make sure engine is not running lean.. Elevation and emissions systems could make a difference.. You're in Cali and Twixxer is in PA. Lean the engine out to much and you could burn a piston..

Take a look at this page it will help you determine the condition of fuel mixture.

Pull the spark plugs and match them to the photos. Sorry it took so long to answer. I'm seldom on the puter at home.

Check out my C50 Bully Controller at GManIndustries.com with the Bully Package he'll get about a 15-16% increase in power and be abel to adjust on the fly or whenever with no tools, no downloads, no added expense. A very rider friendly setup!
