Well the time has come... The longer I own my C50, the longer my rides are getting on the weekends... Today I went out for a quick ride to the local movie store and ended following a parade to the next county for a total round trip of 150mi. But, the C50 geometrics or the stock seat is wearing me out... My butt burns really bad and I am starting to get pain around my waist on the sides, I hope my kidneys are okay I can not longer stand the punishment, maybe I need to reconsider motorcycles all together but defenitely my current setup is not working out. I have $500 set at side for a new seat, but my fear is to blow $500 and still get no results... I am starting to think that it is more then the seat but the whole geometry of the bike. I was thinking that on my previous bike (standard bike), I suported myself not only with my butt, but with my feet/knees and my arms, for example when going over rail roads I would lift my but and my knees/arms will get the bang not my lower back/bottom. With the way I set on the cruiser, all the support is concentrated on the butt, your hands are high up so there is no support there, and your feets are stretched out forward so there is no support there either, so no matter what seat I get, that geometry won't change... But, it still will be alot more cheap to switch seat then to switch bikes, I was looking at the corbin young guns seat, it looks great, but is it comfortable... I sat on a corbin seat once and it was hard like a brick, I don't understand how is that suppost to be comfy. Any ideas, suggestions, recommendations... One thing I have found to help a little was to drag my feet off the rear edge of the footboards, what this does is that allows me to rest not only on my butt but also on the immediate part of legs, giving a more wide area of support not just the butt... For that reason I think that having a really tall seat and if I could lower more my foot boards would really improve my situation... ![]() As you can see on standard bikes there is more seat support, on a cruiser all you get is that little cowl that wraps around your tail bone, so all your weight and the road imperfections rest there... Very bad. |
