Default C50 OEM Lightbar

I have a C50T with OEM lightbar. Recently, my turn signals stopped working in the parking-light mode and stopped illuminating when I am driving. They do work when I activate my turn signal however. Shortly after I noticed this, one of my lightbar bulbs went out.

I went to the Honda shop and got a replacement bulb, part number 34901-MN1-671. The bulb was 4.95. I installed it without much of a problem, but the bulb is 35 w, versus 25 w for the original, thus I went ahead and replaced both bulbs.

I then checked to see if my turn signals were working as a parking/driving lamp and unfortunetly they were not. I checked the turnsignal fuse(10A) and it looked fine. Does anyone have any ideas of what steps I could take to try and touble shoot this problem. It is a minor glitch, but I would like to fix it if I can. Thanks.

If your horn and brake light (not the running light) but the light that comes on when you apply the brakes work then you have a wiring problem, if not then it's a fuse, Assuming the horn and brake light works then you have a wiring problem in the light bar. The wire supplying the running light power to the bar is orange with a green tracer it should connect to one side of the horn and both the front and rear brake switches and are fed off of fuse # 5. It could also be a ground that is missing that would be the black with white tracer. My bet is right in the light bar itself look at where the driving light on/off switch is I bet thats were it's spliced in. When they install a light bar the turn signals are relocated and they have to do some splicing. Although you have a C50T that comes with the bar as standard I bet the dealer still has to install it. Next time you blow a driving light go and get a pair of 4411 sealed beam lights (Napa, Tractor supply) they fit right in and I have not heard of any failures on this board.

On my 05 C50, I found the labeled fuse for the turn signals was in fact not the turn signals. I had wired additional LED stop/running lights and blew the a fuse which was the one labeled turnsignals but my turn signals were not out but brakelights and instruments were.

Thanks Danr, I have the front cover off of the lightbar now and I have found a green wire with a brass fitting on the end that is just hanging there, not connected to anything.....I am going to try and trace it and see if that might be the answer. Thanks again

Green wires are what come out of the turn signal housing and should be connected to the orange with green tracer some where in the light bar. Your on the right track !

Well folks, I was able to finally figure it out with a little help from Danr. I ended up taking the headlight cover off and found where a brown and a green wire had both come loose. I reconnected them and now I have running lights! Think I will go out for a ride now and enjoy a 80 degree day here in South Georgia. Drive safe
