Default Gas Gauge on 07+ retrofitted?

I recently stuck my head in a Suzuki stealership nearby and threw my leg over some of the new models. I savored the flavor of the 109R as well as noticing some of the differences between my 06 C50 and the new 07 C50 and M50. The 2 biggest differences that I noticed were the controls and the gas gauge.

The new controls are MUCH nicer. I like the smoothed out buttons and the new turn signal switch. Very nice. The biggest deal I found was the gas gauge. Thankfully for new owners, their bikes will have a gauge instead of a light. Awesome! Still, that leaves me wondering, could I retrofit my bike to accept the gauge?

Has anyone put any thought into this? I know that tons of folks talk about their hatred for the blinking light. I myself like knowing how MUCH gas is left and not leaving it to chance. I typically use one of my tripometers and reset it to help me know about how much I have left. Still, a nice visual gauge would be much more helpful. It would also prevent my clumsy self from forgetting to reset my trip and then failing to know how much gas I have left.

Perhaps a silly thought, but has anyone looked into it? I did a few searches here and dug up nothing on the topic. What would it take to add the gauge? My initial thoughts are - new gauge assembly and a new sending unit for the tank. Perhaps it's easier. Perhaps it's nothing more than a new gauge. I took a look on Oneida Suzuki's website and didn't see anything for the 07's out yet.

Thoughts? Ideas? Am I crazy? Is it even worth it? Feel free to flame on if so!
