Default 3800miles cross country no problems

Recently traveled to see my daughter alone from Pontiac, Michigan area to Delta, Co. via hwy. 36 much of the way. Took 3 1/2 days and got between 57mpg high and 42 low through the rockies. A great trip and great highway to take. not to mention a trouble-free ride from my 2006 c50t.

Wow. Nice first post! That's a serious ride. Did you document a SaddleSore 1000?

Wow! If you took highway 36 in KS, where did you stop? I spend a lot of time, in a cage, on that road.

Stopped about every 100 miles to top off tank and rest briefly. Wasnt sure
how far between gas stations, especially the last 100 miles in western Kansas and first 100 in Northeastern, CO. which is the (highway to yourself). Although my seat is stock, I added frame mounted highway pegs (I made these) near the back for a different riding position for my feet.

Up in NW KS there ain't much. St Francis is the last town before CO and then you have a lot of nothing. Hope you took food along because there is no place to even eat. Did you end up stopping in KS to stay the night? There's a town called Phillipsburg (it has 2 stop lights even) with a restaurant called the Frisky Brisket, very good eats, the ribs are tasty.

3800 miles, I just want to go 300 on a trip.

If you think St. Francis was small, you should have seen "Last Chance", Colorado. At least most of the small towns had unmanned gas pumps (credit card only) 24hrs. We dont have that in Michigan. I dont remember that specific restaurant, but I tried to stop at locals and stay away from chains.
Hwy. 36 was excellent shape with little to no traffic. I'll do it again next July.

you really want pictures of Northern KS? trust me, you don't. There is the largest ball of twine, i think that's in cawker city and of course a nice shot of the geographical center of the US just east of smith city near lebanon.

Not sure if I did this right, but the link below is at Vail,Colorado on my way back to Michigan. About 44 degrees and 14,000 ft as I recall. I hope this works.Yes pictures are always worth it to others (me too), but the experience was priceless. What a great bike and a beautiful country!
