Exclamation C50 Frame Recall

A couple of months ago I started a thread on a problem I had with the frame busting where the passenger floorboards attach. I am starting this new thread so hopefully more people will read it and be informed. Because I and my passenger almost met our fate at a high rate of speed due to this, I had a few choice words for the Suzuki rep I talked to. Suzuki says this is the first they have heard of the issue but I found some references to this problem on volusiariders.com from a couple of years ago and showed it to him. They promptly asked for my frame and replaced it with a new "prototype" frame (it has no part number yet according to the dealer). I have not had a chance to really try it out yet but they basically added more metal around the bolt holes. Pictures will be coming soon. If you ride passengers and have the suzuki boulevard accessory floorboards, I would be contacting my dealer or suzuki america asap. Suzuki has not officially announced a recall on this. I think they are trying to keep it low key to avoid being swamped with requests. Might get a little expensive if several thousand owners want a new frame immediately. I am supposed to receive a call from the suzuki america customer remediation rep tonight to find out my level of satisfaction with the install. I will ask him point blank if they are planning on making this known to save others from being hurt or worse. If there is any hesitation, I will be providing his name and number. Please, check around the aforementioned bolt holes for stress cracks or breaks.
