Default Gel Seat?

I own and love riding my 2005 C50 for about a year.
As time goes by my rides get longer and the burning pain in my posterior gets worse and worse.
Would appreciate some feeback concerning the benefits of adding a gel seat to my bike?
Also, do they come as pads for the top of the seat or inserts for between the foam and leather.
Lastly, where's the best deal to be found?
Thanks.

You can buy an OEM Suzuki Gel Seat, it lowers the seat height by 1".
The passenger seat has no gel seat. I have heard in hotter climates, the gel portion can get hot.
Have heard both good and bad about them
There are gel pads that strap to your seat also.
There are sheep skin pads that also strap to your seat.
Mustang seats are top rated, but carry a hefty price tag.
Another alternative is to have your seat redone by a local shop. Some have had this done for as little as $50. Others have done it themselfs.

Use search function, seats.

I forgot to mention, that the addition of a drivers backrest provides a better seating position.

Run....Forrest.....Run!!!!

Don't do it! The gel is a waste of money.

Try Corbin, Saddlemen, Mustang or as blackie said a local shop. However, stp1971 will recommend you to "Peter" over at Buttbuffer. He is very happy with their product. (It's a strap on product.) I don't have their URL, but I'm sure you can Google them.

I put the OEM gel seat on about a month ago. Because it is winter and I live in Iowa my longest ride has been about an hour. My early impression is that it is a huge improvement over the stock seat. I was too cheap to spring for the mustang seat but everybody seems to rave about those.

A couple of weeks ago I took my seat in to get reupholstered, the shop offered me a gel insert that would be placed within the foam of the current seat. Basically they told me that they carve out a cavity from the bottom within the foam and place the gel seat pack beneath a layer of the seat foam. It sounded like an interesting idea that I was willing to try out until I was told the cost would be $400! What a rip. Needless to say my answer was a resounding NO THANKS. I told the shop you could get a good gel seat at that price range or better but they told me that they thought a gel seat was around $1000, maybe that's why the crazy quote.

I purchased a Mustang seat for my C50T and love it. It is very comfortable, in fact, there is no comparision between the Mustang and the stock seat. I would keep the stock seat until you can afford to get something akin to the Mustang or Corbin.

What he said! I have heard too many people who bought the gel seat only to go ahead and buy the Mustang. I'm a cheap bastard, but the Mustang price is quite good for the comfort you get. When I first sat on my Mustang, I thought it felt quite odd - the seat has a different shape. After riding on it, I find that is a good thing. Check with Dave at Xtreme for the best deals on a Mustang seat!

Well this is not a GEL SEAT, but I am considering
getting this
Bun Warmer :: Saddle Pads :: Riding Gear :: Off And Riding :: Aerostich/RiderWearHouse Motorcycle Jackets, Suits, Clothing, & Gear for my bike.
