Yes..Baldwinsville to be exact. Brought it home from the dealer. It was a cold but fun short jaunt home. First bike, first year riding..Took all the courses last year and took 5 months of research looking for the right bike.

Mine's supposed to arrive at the dealer this week. Tomorrow or Wednesday, I gotta go finalize the price, trade-in, etc, and get the extras on order -- luggage rack, engine guard, maybe the light bar.

I'm looking at the official star accessories page -- looking to see what I can get away with buying this year before my wife notices.. The "Comfort Cruise Dual Touring" seat looks suspiciously like the Corbin Dual Tour from my Suzi C50..

I just got the 950 vstar and really want to get some new pipes. It seems like the 650 with custom pipes makes a huge difference! I was assuming the same would go for the 950. Any one put any on yet? I just couldnt seem to find any videos on youtube. Was it a painstaking process? Some one told me I might be able to get away with just adding the pipes and remapping the system, others said their is way more to do than that. I dont know what to do!! But I really want a deep sound!! |

Hey VC, I just bought the 950 and love it. This is my third year riding (I had an old Yamaha Virago 920 before). I totaly agree with all the reviews out there. The floor boards are nice, but will touch down when really leaning into a curve (which this bike can take like a crotch rocket). The seat does suck on long rides. Nead an improvement there. Stock exhaust sound nice, but not loud. I don't like the 2-into-1 look so that wil be changed. I am 6 feet tall and fits me nice. Plus, I have a stone drive so the bike is low enough and light enough to push around while straddling it. Great starter to intermediate bike. Good Luck. Suds |

Hi Men, First post. I just bought a 950 and have about 250 miles on it. I traded down from a FJR so the speed differencial is enormous. However, the 950 seems to cruise ok at 70 and the low center of gravity is a really good. Sill have lots to learn. Phil |

Do what I did. Here's what you'll need to do it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I used a 1½" holesaw with a 12" extension and removed the end of the secondary chamber, and now my 950 has a pleasingly low, robust rumble. Compared to the stock sound, the level is now over twice as loud as it was but will not wake up or upset your neighbors. Since the stock exhaust has 2 chambers the primary chamber still gives adequate muffling but man oh!! man the sound you'll get by holesawing that stock exhaust. You won't want to spend $450.00+ dollars on after market pipes after hearing it. Yes, the bigger the hole the better the sound. I initially drilled a ½" hole but that did next to nothing to improve the sound. 1½" is the maximum size that will fit in the bore. The brand doesn't matter but here's what you'll need and what they look like. This is just an example of the tools, you can get them cheaper at various outlets. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...4.0&lpage=none RIDGID No. 7035, 12 In. just bought a vstar 950 tourer package. I have put on 400 miles and conclude that the damn windshield is too short. I don't want to spend a lot of money and I can't find any help on e=bay etc. I heard that there may be a device of some sort you can put on the top of the existing shield and it gives sufficient height. Has someone been telling me fairy tales?

Also, I was getting a lot of wind buffeting at first, but I installed a set of Buck's Lowers and they made a world of difference. | |

Yeah, Thanks Bud. I had never heard of Lowers before. From looking at the pics I can see they may be effective. My windshield now comes up to approx my chin. Do you think these lowers may be effective enough that I would not need another windshield? |

Here's something to try: at road speed, put your left forearm across your chest. If that significantly lowers your noise and wind, then the lowers will probably be an improvement. This is very much a YMMV type thing. When i first got the bike, I was trying to figure out how to get a taller windshield. Now, I don't feel the need at all.
