Default Debadging a 1998 V-star

I want to debadge my 1998 V-Star Classic. I have read the threads about debadging, but I have one question. It looks as though the emblems on the side of my gas tank are underneath the clear coat. Anyone with a 1998 know if this is the case and if I can debadge? Any help is appreciated.

Default Debadge

Sorry, I do not know if that year the badges were clear coated over. You may want to check with a dealer, or Yamaha themselves.

Alright I'll do that, I figured I'd ask on here first. Thanks

it looks like the tank emblems are indeed clear coated. I did take of the "Classic" emblem on the front fender though. All of the other stickers were removed by the previous owner. One word of advice though is be careful about removing the front fender emblem as the sun fades the paint surrounding the emblem. This makes it visible where the emblem used to be. I don't mind all that much, but it is kind of a bummer.
