Hi! I bought the blue 1300 in November. So far I've just added the Suzuki windshield. As far as pipes go check out Meancycles.com. and phatperformanceparts.com. the second site has the most parts listed for the 1300 that I've found so far. The exhaust I like though is the "Big Radious" made by Vance and Hines. I e-mailed Vance and Hines on availability and they said it may be available sometime in the spring.

Cool

I have been told by a Dealer that the carbs. on the 1300 Royal star w/4 individual carbs one for each cylender are more agressive than the FI on other bikes? (feed back)
I also prefer shaft drive, just for the sense of security of not having a belt break going down the road.
I sat on the 1300 V-Star, it felt more comfy than the Liners as far as the reach I am 6'1'' and felt like I had to reach for the bars on the liners and I didn't on the V-star. Both seats felt hard and too wide though.
I then sat on the Royal Star and fell in love it is perfect for me.
Everyone has there own feel though so everyone needs to make there own decision on what bike they pick.

I have a quick question:

I ride a 2001 VZ800 and am 19. I am considering either getting a 600ish Sportbike, but what I would really like is to get a Yamaha 1100 or 1300 cruiser. My question is, how do you think my insurance would compare between a 600 Sportbike and a liter cruiser? Thanks.

From what I've seen, it would probably be cheaper to insure the cruiser.

Brand new 1300 sitting in the garage making that slight gas odor and callin my name every morning. I can't say enough great things about the Yammi. Only one gripe, if you get a chance take a look at the half/a$$ed tape job over the weld seams on the exhaust. Go figure, beautiful metallic paint and glimmering chrome, oh and by the way we melted some electric tape over the exhaust welds.

Bring your checkbooks boys, this is a nice bike!

It's well balanced, with fairly neutral steering feel, even at low speeds. CG is so low, the weight is very deceiving (feels light).

Gearbox and clutch are crisp and direct. The power will surprise you, this thing friggin' gets with it! The gearing feels tall, and the motor wants to rev and build power in a linear way, that adds up to getting up some serious speed quickly.

This bike performs on par with the best 1500-1600 cruisers out there.

Suspension feels supple, much nicer ride than a lot of bikes. Probably need to jack up the rear shock to push it around the curves fast...

I shouldn't have ridden it, though... Makes my M50 pale a bit, in comparison. And that doesn't often happen... Besides, my honey would go ballistic about another bike in the garage. Can't be gettin' rid of any, you know...
Ha! Ha!........I did the same thing last weekend. I went to the Yamaha dealer looking fr the girlfriends ride and they saw me coming. Tested a 1300 and it was plush. very nice. Also took out the Strato and it was extra nice. The funny thing was I didn't ask to ride them . The dealer asked me to .

Same experience for me. Only the result was I drove a new 1300 home the following morning. My only concern is year 1 problems that yamaha will fix in following model years but I'll have to live with them.

I just picked up my new 1300 last Saturday and am in love!!! The bike is so much better than I thought it would be considering this is my first cruiser after years of sportbike riding!!

The only complaint I have is not enough accessories for me to dress ti up with!!!

Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the bike so far. Looks like we got a few happy owners so far, me included. There are a couple of things I can think of that are a little irritating but, I don't know if they are bike charistics or or genuine issues.

I have had my 1300 tourer for about 600 miles and I have no issues to report. I am still getting used to the handling of the bike after riding sport bikes for the last 12 years.

I am very imprressed and very happy with the bike so far. What types of issues are people having?? The only thing I have heard of was the clutch chatter but I haven't heard it.

Only compliant....not enough aftertmarket exhaust options yet and no mustang seats until late summer!

Here's a newbie story for y'all. No laughing - if you can help it. I got a Honda Reflex a couple of years ago and it served me well enough - 85 on the highways to work and back and toolin' around town. Tried not to think about how lame I looked on it.

Last month I traded up for a Burgman 400, a much nicer ride and the same cash as the 250 Reflex POS. Wish I had known.

So I bring it home and my partner clues me in that he was thinking of buying a cycle. Crap. Back to the dealership and checkin things out. After a couple of weeks researching fan sites and such, I came home with a 1300 Tourer. Sweet.

Never ridden a true cycle before this week and here I am with a 1300 under me. Nutz, I tell you, but what a thrill. Registered for class next weekend but I just couldn't help but take it around the nieghborhood then the street once I got the feel of it. Enjoyin ever minute.

Salesman tried to get me to buy one when I purchased my 1100 couple months back; did not want one.
If you want water cooled, fuel injection and belt drive then by all means. I can adjust valves; maybe not right the first time but, I can not work on fuel injection systems, and I don't want belt drive!

I guess its and individual choice. I hope they don't stop making the 1100; but like has been posted, mileage and emission will win out!!!

1100's are sweet rides to be sure. ALMOST got a Classic myself. It was a difficult decision.

Partner and I can completed our M/C class/test this weekend. Not as easy as it looks - specially when it's 100 degrees on the test course. Brutal.
