Default Im sad...

Well I learned my lesson, dont leave your keys laying around at a party.

I went to a party about 2 weeks ago and put my keys down by my helmet, thinking I could trust everyone there. Well I was wrong. Somebody took my bike out for a ride and WRECKED.

Well I didn't know what happened at first, someone came and told me, David(the guy who took my bike) just got here and hes bleeding and your bike was wrecked. I was very confused at this point until I saw him. I asked him where the bike was and he couldn't hardly talk.

Anyways, I hear sirens and what not so I try to follow the sound and I find the accident about 2 miles down the road. I got there and asked if this was a bike accident and they said yes and I said well this was my bike. But I quickly said it wasn't me in the accident, because David left the scene. I told the police that the bike was stolen, which it really was if you think about it. So they wrote a report and went to go get David, but he was at the hospital by this time.

Now, yuor probably thinking, why did he leave the scene? Well I somewhat dont blame him. He was on a back road at night time, and not many cars travel down that road. So we walked back with a broken arm, broken ankle and torn ACL. Serves him right though. So I guess ill wait until the money comes in from him to get a new bike.

Also, if anyone needs any parts of an 05 gsxr 600, let me know. He mainly did body damage, everything else is still good.

That all pretty much just sucks. I can't imagine somebody I know just taking my bike without asking me. I hope David recovers quickly and then you recover what he owes you quickly too. Good luck!

When he's back on his feet, I hope you beat some sense into him! WTF was that idiot thinking?

Man I have no idea....as bad as it sounds, when I saw him, I really didn't care about him. The first thing I asked was, "where is my bike?!?!".

I hate to say this, but your post is the perfect example of why I trust NO ONE around my bikes. I hope this David is not a person you consider a friend. If someone I consider a friend did that to me, I would be ticked beyond belief. I wish you the best of luck in recovering your losses. I would also hope that David faces the fullest extent of the law and learns from this experience. Stealing a bike with absolutely no clue on how to operate it is a really stupid thing to do!

I personally think you should kick the mother loving **** out of him and then give him the bill for the bike repair and if he can't pay you the total balance by the time the bike is finished at the shop, I'd take him to court and sue the ****er for twice what you owe!!!!!

ok, this may sound bad but at least the guy took the helmet too, otherwise we would be talking about another death...It is really crappy what happened and that is why i never trust anyone around my bike or keys...at all, the only other person to sit on my bike is a member here. Trust Noone.

Sounds like he got the punishment he deserved, and paid the stupidity tax to boot. Now I'd hit him up while he's hurting for the money to fix it..... "oh, does it hurt when I twist your ankle????? Where's that check card, and what's your PIN? If it ain't right, I'll be backkkkkk........

Way to "accentuate the positive" as Bing sang once. Seriously, I agree w/ beating the hell out of the guy, but since the errors where racked up pretty high that night, it is pretty interesting that he at least stole the helmet as well.

I can't even imagine taking somebody else's bike. Girlfriend maybe, but not bike. It's just not right.

That's the problem with people. That's why some of my best friends are bikes.

First of all, I agree with SVboy, at least he wore the helmet and didn't get killed.
That being said, I have no pity for the fool and in my opinion you have nothing to worry about feeling the way you did. If you had given him the keys and let him ride to his death, then...maybe. But you did the right thing in reporting it stolen to the cops.
Unfortunaley, they won't be able to get him with DUI at he was not at the scene when they came upon it. They can get him with grand theft and leaving the scene of the accident.
I don't know that I would have be able to restrain myself and not have broken his other ankle on the spot.

Hope he recovers and you get your money back. Just don't leave your wallet laying around the guy.

Even if at the hospital they took blood and ran it?? Then how do they charge people with DUI who are transported to a hopital post accident??? I think there is a way to charge the ****er with something DUI related.

i dont think they can prove when you were drinking if they dont pick you up right after. ive always thought "if im drinking and get in accident, i would go to the nearest store and buy some alcohol....dump some out and then sit and drink a little....when the cops get there, they cant prove you were drinking before hand unless you are REALLY gone.

.

oh....sorry to hear about losing the bike and the stupid ppl in this world. if he really didnt know how to ride, he is lucky to be alive. he doesnt deserve to die, but a good beating is in order

.
