Interesting that the tachometre is sitting at 8k rpm's. Could you work out what speed that would have been, or am I being too Sherlock Holmesy?

Anyhoo - what a d!ckhead!! If he can't cough up the bucks for repar, will insurance cover it?

Its 106 miles to Chicago. We have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, its dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Hey, psycho, we're not getting back together. Now get out of my Van Halen t-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up.

Sadly enough, no. It can be said that they were so scared after leaving the scene that they went and had a few drinks to settle down. The police can't prove for certain that someone was intoxicated while operating the vehicle unless they were still there at the scene immediately following the incident.
SUCKS!

Actually witnessed an little old bitty come out of a bar, hop into her boat of a 70'sish caddie, back up over my friends bike. He stayed to talk to the police, we followed her and called on cell when she got home. Police came and got her for leaving the scene, but couldn't get her for DUI because she was already home. Even though we saw leave the bar and was visibly drunk, I mean DRUNK!!
Here'se the kicker, she had a record of several DUI's and was driving on a suspended license!!!!
I love the law!

How did you know this guy, or did you know him at all?

Your bike will probably be totalled by the insurance company. There's significant damage that any cost to repair wouldn't be worth it. You should get a new bike.

That said...what a ****** ****** ***** ***** **** ****** ****** !!!!!!!!!!!!!
You were nicer than I would've been to that dude when you saw him.

Plus, guys about the DUI thing...I wouldn't count on that little "trick" working. Don't we have a couple cops on this board. I'm sure they could shed light on it. I just have a hard time believing that you couldn't get charged w/ a DUI just because you got out of the car and had a drink someplace else?

Usually the type of guy that will take a bike without permission is the type of guy that won't pay up, or will try to weasle his way out if it with some kind of excuse. Keep on him. I hope it dosent turn into a long drawn out process and you get a replacement quickly.

And as far as that Beating goes.....kick him once for me.
