Default Kinda of a Dumb Question, but....

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to safely remove the warning lable that is placed on top of the gas tank without scratching? I have a new M50 and want to get it off. I'm thinking hot water and slowly peeling, but it's really on there. Thanks for any tips.

Oh great now I'm related to a nearsighted monkey, living in Canada, with a lisp.

Try a hair drter on high setting, also place orange juice from an orange-it should come off with either method without hsrming the finish.

What really worked for me was to take my new 1600 Suzuki Marauder down to the local car wash, put eight quarters in and gram the high pressure wand. Set it to hot wash and if it has a rubber tip, just lay the tip right up next to the sticker. In less than it takes to say it, the sticker will start to lift, just a little mind you but up it will come. Then it is just a matter of using the high pressure wand tu blast the hot soapy water under the sticker, it should blow it away in two to four minutes. They a little organic sticker remover or just some good auto cleaner/wax to get rid of the gummies. Good Luck, Mackbear, East Boothbay, Maine

I don't think I'd recommend washing any part of your bike with a high pressure washer.

I used a hair dryer to remove the sticker from my little GZ250 and did not have any problems with scratching the paint.

Since I started this thread, hopefully I can end it. I used the suggestion of a hair dryer, credit card, and W40 and elbow grease. The tank sticker and the "Suzuki" emblem on the fender came off no problem. Now I am working on removing the Boulevard logos. Thanks for all the input.

Thumbs up I used my thumbnail

After considering the options and not king any of them, I thought that I would just try to peel up a bit of the label with my thumbnail, at the corner, in order to get a better idea what I was dealing with. So I did, and then I got some hot water and detergent and put a small amount on the label and let it site, keeping it wet. The top surface of the label got looser but I kept it wet and continued using a flat spot on my thumbnail, which at the right angle, was able to scrape away the label without one bit of damage to the painted finish.

I repeat, I did not have even the tiniest bit of scatching on the paint. Yes it took a while, but I just decided to take my time and be patient. I have screwed up similar things in the past....almost always from be impatient and looking for a quick solution. After I was done, I waxed/polished the gas tank with a high quality wax (which by the way contain organic elements in the wax) and it was 100% perfect.

I looked at my sticker.. sternly, for about 30 seconds, then I said “Get the **** off my bike”. That’s all it took.

... I guess sometime in the spring i'll work on getting the tank sticker off my bike ... thanks for posting your expirience in getting this done! sounds like it won't be too hard ... just take a little bit of time.
