This will take time to heal.........always does. So take your time and get some help getting past it. I rode with my daugthter on the back when she was young....she loved it and would have likely been a rider now except that she witnessed a fatal motorcycle accident and after that would never get on a bike with me again (and I am a very safe rider) and has no interest in riding.......so your feelings are not unusual.
We all know that going down can easily happen to us....twice for me (without injury) but we accept that for the joy of riding. If the joy no longer exceeds the risk then it's time to sell the bikes and stick to 4 wheels. My daughter is 34 now and I'm just as happy that she does not ride........it's a parent thing.
The best of everything to you, whatever you choose to do.

It is NEVER a sign of weakness to seek help for a major emotional tragedy. In many cases there is a feeling of "Why did I survive and he didn't?". Get some professional help, take your time, remeber your friend as he would like to be remembered and then decide what you want. And for God's sake, don't isolate. Stay in touch with your friends and the friends you have made here.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I'm glad for you that you are okay. There are plenty of things that are out of our control that happen. What happened to you and your friend is one of them. It takes time, and you need time to grive your loss. If riding is something you enjoy, then give it time. Don't give it up. Your friend probably wouldn't want you to.

I’ve read this post a dozen times. Every time I just wish I have something to help you feel better. All I can say is that it will take some time but you will get over it eventually. My prayers are with you.

We'll let Neva decide. I've PM'd her about it. No more complaints, please.

Nevanerviss asked me to close the thread with the following message:

Quote:
In spite of the best in the forum lending me an ear (or eyes, as it were) when I truly did need it, a select few have decided to make light of a tragic accident that has affected my life in ways that they could never imagine... Spoonee IS my friend, and he has become my protector while I'm on my bike... Although I find it downright callous and disrespectful that someone would take an experience like that and consider this thread "whiny", I STILL hope that none of the people that left negative posts EVER experience anything like that... To the ones who think the thread (which helped my healing immensely, by the way) is whining, you guys should find another forum to infect with you negative and childish views... To the ones that helped me, I still thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening (reading) and responding to my thread... MUCH LOVE, Toni
