Default Getting pulled over

I have had my bike for about a year now and today was the first time that I have ever been pulled over on my bike. I wasnt paying attention to my speed as I was on my way to work and I was clocked at 76 in a 45. Yeah, I thought that I was gonna get a very expensive ticket for sure because it was a motorcycle officer that pulled me over (they're usually dicks here) but I guess because of where I work he just told me to slow it down. I guess I either have to watch out better or slow it down on the backroads too.

Anyways, I was just wondering how many times you guys have been pulled over on your bikes.

lots of times, but never on the bike. In my younger days (long long ago in a far away land) they had to catch up with me first. Since I knew the town like the back of my hand, it was easy to loose them. (that was before two-way radios of course). Really as a more mature rider, I usually can outwit them or at the very least get off with a warning.

I always keep several doughnuts with me as anti-ticket countermeasures. When they get on your tail,,slow down,,throw a doughnut on a side street, and when they turn onto the side street to retrieve the doughnut,, keep going straight and get outa there before they finish picking up the doughnut.

Seriously though,,, about 7 times..... but if I would've had those doughnuts with me then......

Never been pulled over on the bike. But about 5 or 6 times in the car. 2 speeding warnings. Several fix it tickets for having head lights out. Once I actually got a ticket for speeding. It was night and I was spinning out in the wet snow, throwing snow all over the car behind me. Turned out to be a piloce car.

And the worst one ever. It was about 12:30 to 1am at night comming home from a friends house. We were doing something stupid to pass the time like playing monopoly or something. Anyway I had my brother with me and I as on my way home. All the sudden I thought. What is my brother doing with me? I picked him up at another guys house earlier that night and brought him along. So I needed to take him back and get his car. So at the next 4 way intersection (well lit with traffic lights) I turned left, went down the road about a block or so, did a u-trun and went back to the intersection. I wasn't feeling all that well and had been fighting a cold for a few days so I wanted to get home and get into bed. I pull up the the traffic light (the light is red and I need to turn right) I look arround to see if anyone is arround. All I see is a pair of headlights about 6 or 7 blocks away down to my left. The light turns green...I rev up my car to about 5 grand and dump the clutch...I peel out arround the corner, leaving a trail of smoke and burnt rubber behind me, make a quick shift to 2nd gear barking the tires once more then setteling it down to about 45mph. Which was the posted speed limit in that area.

No sooner do I let of the gass, the car that was off to my left is now on my tail with his lights on. Every dirty word I had ever been taught plus even a few of my own started racing through my head. @%$@%$ @$%@45@24@$%@$%&(&*#$@%

So I pull over, head hanging low. The police officer comes over, I have my car off, window down, liscense and registration already in my hand. The first thing he says to me is. "Soo....How much have you had to drink?" First of all I have never been drunk in my life, I don't like the taste of beer and I'm smart enough to not drink and drive. So I told him. "I don't drink." He goes "Oh yea whats that?" It was a red Gatoraid with the label peeled off. I had a cold and was drinking that to stay hydrated. So he has me hand it to him so he can smell it, then he gives it back. Next thing he says is. "Why are you guys out so late?" Of course I don't want to tell him I was out playing Monopoly. He might think I'm being a smart a$$...so I studder a little and try to think of a better excuse, like eating pizza and watching porn at a buddies house. Ubba uuaahhh aah I was at a friends house?? The officer then says. "Can you step out of the car please?" So I get out and he does the subriety test on me. And at this point I'm getting a little irritated. Then after that he asks. "Do you have any weapons on you?" And I answer. Yeah.... (pause for effect) .....rrrriiiiiiggghhhttttt So he puts me up againt the car and pats me down for weapons...."Here whats this?".....thats my wallett. He opens up the door of the cruiser pushes me inside. When he gets in the car I ask. "Do you do this to everyone you pull over?" He yells back. "You just sit back and SHUT UP I'm going to run your plate to see if your wanted." The whole time I'm thinking...man this sucks. Then after he gets his information, finds out I'm not wanted he tells me why he pulled me over. I thought it was from my impressive display of speed and power with a 4 cylinder Mazda. He said the reason he pulled me over was because I went through a red light. I said WHAT, you have got to be kidding?? Back there at that intersection you went through a red light. He just saw me going down the road at a high rate of speed and assumed I ran the red light. He was on the red side but my light was green. I was so mad that was the reason, but then again I was relieved because I could have sworn I was going to get a ticket for speeding. I was so mad, that inside the pocket of my jacket I had a bunch of snotty kleenex's from being sick, plus candy and cough drop wrappers, I just emptied my trash all in the back of his car. Then he let me go with a warning. A funny thing happened about a year later. I met that officer again when I was at the Police station installing a computer for the Amber Alert system. I started talking to some of the officers there, and I guess nobody else really liked him either. I usually get along really well with the law enforcement. One of the guys I ride with now is actually the Chief of Police. But that was my most memerable pull over.

Just so you guys know if your ever at a 4 lane intersection turning right. In Nebraska your supposed to rotate your vehicle on its center axis and position it under the red light directly above you and stop there till that one turns green, and then you can go.

10 and up for me, but onlyo twice on the bike so far.

Once for 'speeding.' His quote: "I don't know how fast you were going . . . couldn't pick you up on my radar . . . but YOU know how fast you were going. SLOW IT DOWN. <thanks for stopping for me>."

Once for not stopping at a stop sign (I yielded . . . still shows effort). His quote, "I know you boys on them crotch rockets like to fly, but y'all gon' stop at the stop signs now, ya-here meh?"

<i ain't got no 'crotch rocket'>

Twice on a bike back when I was in college - both times for running a red light - - the same one - - on a low traffic side street I took from my apt. towards campus - - the same one that every few months would suddenly go from a 5 second yellow to a .05 second yellow. How convenient.

None on the bike but have had some, "I wonder why that cop didn't come after me" experiences. For example the other nigth there were 6 of us going to meet another biker. We were crossing a wide bridge with a speed limit of 30. We were all driving like 45 give or take a few obviouslt speeding. We see a cop sitting at a red light facing us and he immediately turned down the road we turned onto. Thne he just kept going......I was thinking he didn't wanna stop one of us with 7 of us being there.

Or another time I was going over (not sure how much) in a 55 and I saw a cop sitting on a road about to pull out. He didn't even move.....I was wondering if he just didn't want to try chasing after bikes in an open barren road.

I've been pulled over three times for different reasons, but only gotten one ticket and it was for having "illegal equipment" on my car.
