Default not today but whithin the last year

In the last year I learned that when you are unjured ( foot and ankle in my case) stay off the motorcycle until you are healed, Last year I had a broken ankle and foot, it had been healing for 8 month's but wasn't good enough, I had an incident where while stopped, a car backed into me glancing off my front tire, it wasn't a hard hit, just enough to throw me off balance but because of my injuries when the wieght of the bike went to the left and I threw my foot down to catch myself my ankle broke (agian) and over I went breaking my leg in 5 places ( also from the weakened condition of the bone from the preveouse injury).
After anouther year of operations and recovery I have came to the conclusion that if I would have put back the urges to ride and waited until I was 100% even if the same situation had happened I believe the outcome would have been better.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

Hope things work out for you.

On a side note, this is the reason a good pair of above the ankle boots with rubber soles should be worn when riding. When coming to a stop you can never be sure the footing will be optimal wether someone hits you or not.

Thanks, this happened (the second incident) early last year, I'm muco better now just some food for thought.
While my leg was healing I would visit the surgen every two weeks for some x-rays and such, I could pick out the motorcycle riders in the waiting room from the broken legs and skin rash, one guy had been in such a hurry to ride agian he had cut his cast off of his foot and ankle and went riding, his foot was gigantic, needless to say the Doc was a little mad.
Good boots are a must, I never ride without them.

Default I recall something like this.

A few years back there was this guy who had a cast on his leg and would still ride. He would prop his broken leg on handle bars and ride. I thought he was nuts, but low and behold he never wrecked. I jst could not do that. Fortunately for me, every time I broke a leg it was at the beginning of winter or before I ever had a bike.

Glad to here you are better. You have had your quota, and are allowed no more broken legs.
