Still pretty sore from the fall. I've got a shoulder problem that had been brewing for the last month or so that's been aggravated by thisl so I'm probably going to have to see a doc if it doesn't get better in a few more days. The parts I need arn't available locally and are on order, I'm looking at a minimum of seven days before they come in, maybe longer. The bent peg is too bent to get my foot under the shifter and I'm pretty sure riding without a headlight is a no-no. Oh well I'm driving my swanky Saturn L100 to the park & ride and taking the bus for the next week or two. | |

One good thing is two weeks ago I ordered "Moccasin" Mike's Pair Valve Removal Kit (http://www.moccsplace.com/images/pair/pair.htm) so while the bike is off the road I'm going to pull that sucker off. On the Marauder the pair valve is in a huge plasti-chrome box, when I'm done my bike will look like this: http://www.moccsplace.com/images/pair/pkmar.jpg instead of this: http://st0nkingbyte.whizy.com/images/marauder_1.jpg That'll be kind of neat |

My last needed part finally arrived today, headlight bracket. It was the one thing I couldn't beat, polish or epoxy back into working order. With any luck I'll get the bike put back together tonight and take it out for a test run. I've only started it once and haven't ridden it at all since the accident so I'm kind of nervous that it'll run and ride OK. I worry about hidden frame damage or something Hopefull today is the last day riding the bus to work Oh and did I mention that I don't think it has rained once, certainly hasn't during my commuting time, since I took the fall. No rain in Seattle, in February even! Last edited by St0nkingByte; 02-21-2005 at 05:54 PM. |

The test ride went fine. The bike feels the same to me, even the shifter that I thought might have gotten loosened in the fall turns out its really always been that way I had just never really paid attention to it. While the bike was busted I also removed the pair valve using Mocc's removal kit. The removal went really well and the kit and instructions were perfect. Here's a plug for Mocc's site: http://www.moccsplace.com/images/pair/pair.htm The bike really sounds different to me after the pair valve removal. It's deeper and more consistent, at least it seems that way. Accelerating sounds the same but when I back off the throttle or when it idles it sounds smoother and somewhat quieter. I still need to put my epoxied windshield back on but my Marauder is road worthy again and no more bus for me, yay! |

I've always wondered about mounting an onboard camera on the bike. They've become pretty cheap - for about $200-$300 one could do the whole setup. Then mother%&$s like these would have their day in court.
