Default Flashing Tail Light

Found something on-line that will make all riders feel better.
Most motorcycle riders tap their brake at red lights so cars will not hit them!! Check out this site: WWW.KISANTECH.com
They have tail lights that plug in and FLASH when you apply the brake.
Also something that makes the headlight flash during day light hours but not at night. Great data base to find the right part for your bike.

I installed a similiar module for my taillight a couple months ago. It has an adjustable flashrate which is nice. I've noticed people back off more and stop tailgating if I just lightly apply the brake as a warning.

On another note, when splitting traffic in California, leave a turn signal on. A small flashing light approaching catches the cagers attention and most will give you a little extra room. Then there is always the jerk that see's it and tries to close the gap on you! LA drivers!

I'm not too sure about the practicality of spending $60 + install time when you cane brake with your front and tap your rear lightly. But in those moments when you need full stopping power from both brakes something like this could save your life or at least your bike from a rear end collision.

I looked at the site though and noticed a turn signal canceler. that's good stuff but too pricey. Otherwise I'd consider than because I can't be assed to remember to turn it off every now and then.

I didn't go the $60.00 route like the web sight. Our club got together and did a huge bid and order on Ebay for a similiar one. We got so many we got the cost down to $12.00 each and free shipping! Volume counts on Ebay too.

My husband and I have these on our bikes and they really do make a difference. When we ride with other people who don't have them we've noticed they are a lot less visible. It seems like a good investment if it helps you be seen.

Nice but not necessarily legal everywhere. So check before you buy.

I have one of these things (called a TailBlazer) on my Marauder. Besides doing the flashing, the replacement bulb used with it is MUCH brighter than the stock one.

Coincidentally enough, I noticed one of those flashing brake lights the other day on the 3rd brake light of an SUV. DEFINITELY drew my attention to the thing, and the fact that it was stopping. My bike is currently sans brake light, and I was already thinking of custom fabricationg my own as per Nighthawk's LED Brake Light topic. Now all I'll need to do is throw in a relatively simple circuit to achieve that ever-so-noticeable flashing effect.

I'm still not sure why that huge honkin SUV needed one of those flashers, but I'll be more than happy to increase my visibility.

That's easy, for all the other blondes in Suv's on cell phones, to see her.
Sorry SG1, but you don't drive an SUV anyhow. (Hmm.... better start back pedaling fasster now.... Damn I hit Submit!)

Humm I've know aboot the tail light flashers for a long time but while up at Biketoberfect I saw a goldwing coming at me with the flashing head light during the day. WOW you really notice that with the double headlights.

Right now I'm trying to rig some Signal Dynamic red LEDs under my plate or on the lower swing arms facing to the rear just to increase the red glow from behind.

ok....probably a dumb question.. But I have wondered a few times why Bikes don't have Emergency Flashers... Would have liked them a couple of times when I stopped at night.

Suzuki implemented emergency flashers on the 2004 models. I guess they carry over to the '05 line as well, but I can't say for sure because I haven't seen them.

My 1400'er has emergency flashers, but I still went ahead and ordered a set of "tailBlazers" for my bike. I'll install them in February, before waking my bike from it's winter hibernation.

Wink

Hey Pug,

Do what work on the SV650S? tailBlazers or emergency flashers? The tailBlazers are just (expensive) replacement bulbs, they should work on just about every machine.

My '04 'Busa has hazard lights. Come to think of it, all the Hondas I sat on in the showroom had the exact same switchgear as my Suzuki, including the hazards - granted the Hondas were all Japanese spec.
