Default Braking, tips and myths

Here are some files showing the results of testing done here in Canada about different braking methods for motorcycles, front brake, rear brake or both. Comparing ABS integrated systems to conventional seperate front and rear brakes.

They dispel myths about the 70/30 front/rear braking efectiveness, for example considering 100% as being optimal braking using the best front/rear combination they show that using the rear only offers over 50% effectiveness.

Having caught an interview on tv with one of the testers yesterday, there are some things he mentioned that are not in the charts but are eye opening.

Light supersport bikes do not stop faster than heavy cruisers. Motorcycles do not stop faster than cars.

So a big thank you goes out to Promocycle.
