You have been waiting to ride your motorcycle all winter, counting down each day until spring. Spring has finally arrived you are so eager to go riding that you run down to your storage locker / garage and can't wait to hop on your steel steed. But wait, before you and your metal baby get re-acquainted there are a few things you will have to do before heading out on your first ride: 1) Find your storage checklist - use the checklist you made when you first put your bike away for the winter and reverse all of your steps. If you do not have a checklist then keep reading and follow the below. 2) Uncover your bike and wipe down your cover 3) Check your tire air pressure and condition. Check for cracks or warping. 4) Remove rags from exhaust pipes 5) Wash your motorcycle 6) Re-install your charged battery 7) Inspect your controls 9) Check condition and level of fluids (gear oil, brake fluid, coolant, etc) 10) Examine your chain and sprocket 11) Look over your chassis and overall body of your bike 12) Take your motorcycle off it's center stand ensuring the side stand is still in good condition. 13) Return paper work into the bike 14) Test the ignition. Check for to see how well it idles once it's warmed up. 15) Practice your riding skills to get rid of the cobwebs from the winter absence. 16) Enjoy the ride!
