Default Hang on to the Bike!

Can't remember where I heard this - probably somewhere in these forums. But the advice was that most bikers jump ship when they're about to go down.

The counter argument is that when you bail, gravity and inertia are in control...you can't control the direction of the bike or yourself.

I came across a video compilation of crashes on You Tube that had a good brief example of this. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it again. Please let me know if you have seen it and have the link. Here's what I remember:

It was a compilation set to music (don't remember the song). Somewhere around 1:45-2:00 minutes into it there is a guy in yellow leather racers. He is fiercely coming off the bike, legs both to one side, then straddling, then to the side again. The whole time he is hanging onto the bars and he recovers it! Does NOT go down, regains control and keeps riding.

Now that's some MAD SKILLS!
