I've done the basic and would be interested in the advanced. But here they just put cones on a flat parking lot for the advanced which doesn't really get me excited. I wish we had something like you guys do with the closed track.

This just my opinion, but you should consider taking it anyways. The exercises are valid ways to learn new or improve existing skills. Especially since you would be using your own bike. Yeah, a track like the one shown, is way cool, but that doesn't mean you won't benefit from a good class in a parking lot. I'm the type of fellow that is all for any proper way to learn. Hell, even some improper ways if some forethought is applied.

%%%%%-%%%%%-%%%%%, if we had roads up here like you have down there we wouldn't need closed tracks.

Look a little harder, I had been looking for something like this for quite some time, and didn't know it existed till Clint told me about it.

In any case as Tab said it would still be a benefit to you.

Very True. Maybe next time I'm on the Cherahala Skyway I'll drop some orange cones down and just do my own advanced course!

The cones on the lot will help you more than you think since you are using your own bike, if you got the time go for it-it only helps

Does any other state offer a Rider Skills Practice course?
I took that a year after my Intermediate (same as Basic, but condensed to one day) and it did much of the same things as the basic but on your own bike.

You may have to click and drag to see the whole thing, I don't think I got it quite centered.

Could you tell me where that is
and how to get in touch with them?
I get out that way at least once a year
and would like to try that.
Thanks.

It's in Rosemount Mn, about 15 miles south of St Paul on Hwy 55.

Just zoom the map out To see where it is in relationship to your location.

Look here Riding Course!

Keep in mind it's not something you can just ride in and do, I sent my money in when there web site said there were still openings in June, and I didn't get an opening till Sept.

I see that right now they are still just showing the dates from 08 that are all well past, if I remember right they will be posting next years schedule sometime in Feb. Sign up early if you want to go, they fill up fast. There are a few (TRICKER, CLINT, ME) from this forum that will be interested in doing it again, well for Adam (TRICKER) it would be his first time.

Cool, maybe all of us can get the same date.

I have met a & ridden with about 25 members from this forum, (all good people) mostly I ride with the Minnesota members, but there is also a group from the Georgia/North Carolina/Tennessee area (The Tail of the Dragon) that gets together on occasion, and I've ridden down there with them too.

Funny you should mention that.
I hope-- work situation permitting, to ride out to the
Dragon and meet up with some friends from a V4Honda board
I'm a member of this May. 1300-1400 miles one way.
Better take the Blackbird.
We have get-togethers in a few parts of
the U.S. each summer. Me, MJ member Wild Willy and one other fellow
put the one on for this area in the Deadwood, Sd-Sheridon, Wy area.
Anyone is welcome; and I'll post more about it when the time gets a
little closer.

Good chance you're coming thru here then.
I'll ride with you the second half.

We'll ( folks meeting me from the east) continue on to Beartooth Pass in Wyoming from there.
We might have a couple guys rideing out there from your area this year.
I'll keep you posted if you're interested.
