I wave to everyone on two wheels if safety permits and I never meet a stranger on two wheels in conversation, including the big bad biker types; and for the most part they are always friendly right back to me.

I usually wave...
Last weekend we had beautiful sunny weather. Rode out along a scenic route to a show and shine. I have never seen so many bikes on the road in a single day. At times there were packs of 20 riders at a time.
Waving became pointless after a half hour or so.

I will wave at the ones that require a motorcycle endorsement. I don't wave at the booze mobiles.

most riders up here in new york state area wave, you have the few harley riders who feel that if your not riding a hog your not gettin any recognition for being a biker.I ride because i love to ride and i ride what i want to ride not something that cost twice as much and does the same thing because of the pressure of others to buy a harley

I wave all the time. I figure the ones that don't wave back either didn't see me or are afraid to let go.

I waved at a biker the other day, but he didn't wave back, he nodded. Then I noticed something as he passed by. He didn't have a left arm, no joke. Turns out, this guy is a student at the college I go to, and won some major settlement in the accident that caused him to lose his arm, so he bought a HD and had it modified so he could use it. I really wish I could get a look at the controls, and I can't imagine low speed turns with only one arm!

I guess this explains some things, but this guy didn't have a hook, or a prosthesis.

If I wave and the other one doesn't I pretend I'm scratching my crotch to avoid looking stupid.

I like to wave at speed cameras too...if they trigger...different wave though

I took a break from riding for 30 years (AKA "marriage") and back then, there weren't as many bikes. I rode a Guzzi V7 Sport, a "cafe racer" and I'd get some weird looks and a lotta questions, but a wave was always returned.

I live in town, do a lot of slow commuting and when I can't use my clutch hand I nod, still get nods back.

The only group I consistently don't get a wave back from are the scooter riders. My theory is, based on the way they dress, the lack of gear and even bicycle helmets (!!), with the recent kick in gas prices, many are new to powered two wheels and don't identify with motorcycles at all.

I wave at everyone and don't care if they respond or not. Most do, but everyone's got their own priorities at that moment.

Here in N.C. most of the people on scooters have lost their driver's license. There are more that are just ridding them to save gas now though. Anyway, I usualy only wave at the bigger ones that require a motorcycle endorcement unless they wave at me first. I geuss my ego just can't handle not getting waved back too.

Admit it. When you wave at a biker who does not wave back or at least give a nod, and there are cars around that saw it, don't you feel a bit embarrased?

I wave as long as it's safe and as long there arent lots of bikes around. If there are a lot of bikes out I just dont feel like keeping my arm out.

Other bikes dont have to wave back. I wave anyway.

Had a Police Officer wave at me yesterday, but I couldn't wave back. I was just completing a hard right turn on to the road he was on so I gave a nod.

I Started Waving Because I Was Tired Of Being That Guy Who Was Too Good To Wave!. Really Though I Thought At First They Were Mistaking Me For Someone They Knew.. (im Not Real Quick) There Is Nothing About This In The Manual! Yes Wave When Safety Permits.

You mean they are not waving just at me because they like my bike
