It's quite liberating to expose one's sexual organs in public. That's why.

not that anyone cares what I write after that picture....

but I have my high beam on during the day too - have you looked at how dim the low beam is on your bike during the day time?

It all goes back to the neon banana suit. I think I may need therapy.

Always. It catches the eye much more readily than the low does. I turn it down at dusk.

I generally ride with the high beam on during the day. Sometimes I don't think about it, but for the most part I remember to switch it on.

High beams on durring the day +/- but I like to flash the high beams at intersections or oncomming traffic where someone looks like they may want to pass (into me) durring the day.

I have running lights so I run with high beam off during day, so I'm better seen with headling and two large running lights on. Ride Safe! Ride Often!

Had a guy behind me on the morning commute with his high beam on the whole time. Annoying to say the least.

Hello there.. You may have seen my post about the MSF course just passed (Father's Day)... I road a couple of months before taking it, and the fellows at work DO ride with the highs on during the day and suggested I do the same. So, I do. HOWEVER, I was surprised while at the MSF classroom, when the rider coach speaking at the time said NOT to, as it annoys drivers we are in back of...

Well, I am not sure what to do now.... Perhaps I should have asked on a personal level what they thought about that. Our safety as riders being better SEEN during the day or not, verses pissing off `cagers'... Not sure if I would want to adjust my rear view mirror during the day either..

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Anyone else??

....GS

i used to run the HI all the time but on my 'new' bike (82 seca 750) ive got a glitch someplace and after a short period of time, the warning light will flash indicating an issue with the headlight. there IS no issue and if i switch to LO, the warning light goes away...

on the new crotch rockets you can tell if theyre running LOs or HIs by looking at their headlights. LOs look like one of the bulbs are burned out. they are set up with one for LO, both for HI...

I never thought of that but that is one more good reason to ride with the high beam on.
The first thing a cager will say after they hit a bike is "I didn't see him" well the high beam gives us a little more chance of being seen doesn't it.

It's diffent on most super/sport bikes. The honda for instance, does one or the other, but not both unless you futz with the switch.

Another easy way to tell is because the light is really bright

I find that I don't often use mine during the day. I just ride more cautiously, and remain aware of my surroundings.

Louisiana also.

I always rode with high beams during the day. The safety classes here advises its students to always use their highbeams during the day.
