|  What bike to pick?
Hello this is my first post and my introduction but i also have some questions about beginning to ride so I figured it should go here more than the newbie spot... I also figured my questions would be more quickly answered here. So my name is Cory and I have only ridden a motorcycle once, driving it anyway, my brother drives a suzi sv650 and he stunts it and thats how i got into ridding although I dont care about stunting. So my questions are as follows: 1. I want to eventually get a honda cbr 600rr or an r6 or zixxer or gixxer. But right now i need to get something weak so i dont die. I'm 6'2 180 pounds and my brother said I would get bored with a ninja 250 very quickly and that I should go with a 500cc like a ninja 500 or gs500f or whatever. What do you guys think about that? is he right? 2. Like I said I have only driven a mc 1 time in my life but I understand all the basics like shifting and throttle and where all the controls are. So my question is: I used to ride bikes (the peddle kind) all the time and i bmx'ed and speed raced alot will this assist me any in riding a bike or should i try to keep that seperate from motorcycling? I know they are heavier and can go faster than I could ever go on a bike but I did learn how to counter steer and things like that, not use the front brake to agressivly dont brake in corners does this transition to mc's? 3. How many miles should I put on my "beater" before I step up to a bigger bike? It will be a month or 2 before I get a mc but I am trying to learn as much as possible now. Thanks for any advice you can provide. Also what is a squid?  |
