Default How to turn when leaving a stand still stop

A buddy of mine and I just got our bikes a few weeks ago and have been practice riding since then. We both have our permits and are going to take the MSF in 2 weeks. I have a C50 Suzuki and he has the Kawasaki 900 Vulcan. We are both still a little shakey when leaving an intersection and making the turn. I have found the pressure helps but I still don't feel totally comfortable. Any help for a couple of newbies that used to ride years ago.
Thanks to all,
Ken
