I had a wasp go into my helmet twice, one did not sting, the other stung me several times. Emergency braking takes on a whole new meaning when that happens. Luckily both times were on a rural road w/ nobody behind me. I never knew you could do a nose wheelie on a Harley.

Our area is loaded with deer. We live on a backroad next to the lake, so they're plentiful around our house. I have to putt about 25 mph to our house to keep from hitting one of them. One evening, I had to stop for the "parade" going across the road. I counted 31 in that herd. So far, I've lucked out and not hit one. Two riders were killed in one month up in South Dakota from hitting deer on the highway. After reading that, I'm VERY careful on our backroads.

Hey, you should put one of the flame throwers on the front of your bike. That way when the herd makes you stop again, you can engage in a little entertainment while you are waiting. Like my daddy used to say, "There's few things funnier than watching a heard of flaming deer running like crazy."

Dogs, possum and birds are the usual hazards here. This time of year especially you've got to worry about deer, too. Worst I've gotten over the years was a dove to the helmet - startling enough, but nothing to unseat you.

Tagged a dove with my blinker.
Damn what a mess. Blood and feathers every where.
Had a screech owl fly out in front of me the other night riding home. That was a really big bird.

My rural ride is still the same even in SOCAL. Horses and cows everywhere.
On a ride into work when we lived in FLA; I ran up on two horses that where loose. Good thing I was in my truck and not on the bike.
We got the horses out of the road unharmed...but damn could you imagine..
Even in the F-150 with OH MY GAWD bright lights...I still barely saw them in time.

ok, I know it doesn't sound like much, but I ran over a squirrel once. He was stuck to the road and his tail was flipping around. It was pretty gross, and I felt terrible! Are armadillo's pretty mean? I've never seen one.

Nope. That stuff hangs around like a really bad date that won't go away.

I've never had any encounter with real skunks (fortunately) but I didn't know that their smell can be that persistent. I always thought you could wash it off.

Kay, I had a sparrow almost knock me off my bike one day. It hit me on my helmet just above my eyes when I was going about 75. Boy, it REALLY hurt. If I hadn't had a backrest, I would have gone right off the back. My son was riding in front of me when he was a little guy, and one of those darned things buried its beak in his leg. Sparrows might be little, but they're dangerous because there's so many of them!

WOW sparrows and Doves!!! I was just thinking about those big a** buzzards that love to feed on the highway hamburger, they aren't very fast on the takeoff. You could almost wrestle that thing!!! It would be like a grown man slapping you off the bike. Plus I think they have bad attitudes.....you would have to fight him even after the collision. Or my personal favorite step back, fire 3 rounds, scan, remain in cover mode.....LOL

Yes screech owls are VERY BIG!!!! They have sharp claws as well...that could have been UGLY!!!! Glad ya'll missed each other.
