Reading a post from Badkitty reminded me of a very good thing that was pointed out to me in an MSF class. I used to think that flashing a high beam was a good way to get somebody to see you riding - for instance that guy wanting to turn left in front of you or that lady pulling out of a side street in front of you. Nope, bad idea. Flashing your high-beam is usually interpreted as a signal to let somebody pull into traffic in front of you. Damn, some of those MSF guys have a pretty firm grasp of the obvious! |
