| According to the Kuryakyn website, these grips are not compatible with bar-end weights. Couldn't you take off the end cap (of the grip) exposing the handle bar tube and insert the weight? Obviously I don't own these grips or know much about them, just kind of thinking out loud. Thank you. |

| It can be done with the oem weights. Search over at the VolusiaRiders.com :: Index site for a walkthrough. I'll have a look now & if I find it I'll post a link here. I went with the stiletto for the looks though. Here it is. I had it saved to the harddrive. Made it easy to find again. Over here.

| Good links, thanks. My bike ('85 Nighthawk) didn't come with weights therefore has no threads inside the bar so I was thinking about using these weights: !!!MANIC Salamander - Bar End Weights They have some made for a 7/8" hollow tube. I just wonder if I take off the grip cap and maybe enlarge the hole in the grip so it doesn't catch on the weight (as the weight is secured to the bar not the grip) if it would work. Thank you. |

![]() I used Pro-Grips though. And it did improve the comfort level. Check out Dennis Kirk, they have a large variety of bar ends, just be sure your looking at the weighted pieces and not simply slider protectors. I'm not familiar with those ISO grips, so I don't know why you couldn't make a hole in the end to add bar ends.

| Hey Doug, If you don't mind me asking, how much were those weights? Do you happen to know how much they weigh? Do you have a website for K&S? Also, which Pro-Grip did you go with? Thank you. |

I don't have the site for K&S. I got the bar ends and grips both from denniskirk.com I bought this Pro-Grip: ![]() Model 838 Road Grip, available in 6 colors. * Extra-slim profile* * Proprietary compound in two densities: hard inside for extra grip on the bar to minimize movement, soft ouTside for rider comfort and vibration absorption* * For 7/8" bars with twist throttle* If you look at my pics in this link, you can kind of see the grips and weights. Look at the bottom two pics, the top 2 are the old grips.... http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...onda-kawi.html Hope that helps. Last edited by 650Doug; 07-12-2007 at 01:45 AM.

| After using those Kuryakyn ISO grips for several thousand miles they're starting to leave a residue on my hands or gloves or both which leaves my hands looking filthy whenever I go riding. As if this weren't bad enough, it easily transfers to the face whenever I have occasion to scratch an itch. I came home from a ride the other day looking like I had been working in the coal mines. I guess we're just not paying Kuryakyn enough to expect quality merchandise.

| I think I may have a bit of carpal tunnel beginning. The numb fingers may just be the beginning? I deal with this at work (surgeries) all the time.... but if I can get relief, otherwise I am fine. Thanks Kool, I am glad to know they may resolve at least a bit of the discomfort. I dream of travelling with my wife several hundred miles without too much problems, now I am slightly worried. |
