Are you talking about the nut where the lever goes into the trans? I will have to look at it again. Even still I will look into the pegs. Thanks for the help.

Yes! The nut on the shaft that goes into tranny is the one!
Standard gearshift lever height is 3.3-3.7 in. I never moved mine, I just got used to it.
I have pix from Service manual if you need em

Sidi all the way for me. My previous pair lasted me 4 years. Just replaced them with the Sidi Typhoon. (My previous pair was the predecessor to the Typhoon.)

If you could send me the pix, or post them here, that would be great. Thanks. I sent you a PM with my e-mail address.

Looked and looked for boots and didn't really like what I was finding, until I found and bought a pair of Birkenstock hiking boots. Over the ankle, gortex waterproof and all day comfortable. I really like them. And they were on sale when I got them. It's all good.

Hiking boots aren't going to have the protection that purpose-built motorcycle boots provide.

Boots with laces are evil when it comes to motorcycles. The ends of the laces can wrap around the pegs - you won't notice until you try to put your foot down, and it doesn't reach the ground, but the bike starts to tip over ...

Not trying to be controversial, but if I had had boots on when I dumped my new C90T, I would have broken my ankle. As it happened, the bike slid on my foot, and my soft shoes twisted around my foot rather than twisting my ankle. Two weeks later, I had boots on when I dumped it again. This time, the boots twisted my ankle, and I'm still limping. I do agree with those who buy HD boots. My friend has a really nice pair of them that cost $85. My Gore-tex hiking boots cost $150. I know Gore-tex is expensive, but his boots are pretty nice looking!

I use work boots for a few reasons...
They are cheap (about $80 CAN) and they are very very comfortable.
I also needed a pair to do some home renovations

Terra Footwear :: BOULDER (7191ME)

I don't know if for safety reasons i should get a real pair of motorcycle boots... the boots i have now feel like i put on some heavy slippers

I went to the Daytona website, and they are beautiful boots, but for EUR 219 the damn things better do Calculus for me and end massages in a happy fashion.

OEM parts? Ron Ayers is what I always use.

Aftermarket? Many good sources. Scroll down on the main menu and check with Blade first. He can get a lot of stuff for you a little cheaper than some of the websites you'll find. If Blade ain't got it, google it.

Well, you are right and wrong all at the same time. Wolverine makes both the Harley boots and the Hush Puppies boots.

I have been riding for two seasons with a cheap hiking boots form Walmart. Finally I bought Joe Rocket boots. They were comfortable in the store.

The only problem is that I can not bend my feet enough to fit it under the shifter or even bending the feet enough to move the shifter down
(the boots are so stiff).

I do not see any solution other than changing the shifter height

i just got a pair of joe rocket meteor boots. big difference from my work boots and i got adjusted to it quickly (3 days). very stiff, but got used it to because the work boots were always tight.

i always got the laces caught in the bike and they always flapped loose.

i'll take any numbness of feel over a crash due to laces, any day.

Which boots? Joe Rocket is typically sport type stuff. It might loosen up, but it's probably not designed for the cruiser position.
