Default Buying a motorcycle

The purchase of a motorcycle is a relatively inexpensive venture, however, once you have made the purchase it breaks your bank account, empties your savings, and makes you get a second job just to pay for the upgrades for performance and the looks of said purchase.

In my case...................it wont be very long before my upgrades will match the price of the original "Purchase". Currently it stands at 1/3 total price.

OR you can spend a lot of money on a bike, then start de-blinging it as you remove the extraneous garbage and sell it on ebay, recouping a sizable portion of your original purchase price...

i reckon it all depends on which disease you get...

If you spend it on the Bike, then you won't have it to spend on Smokes, Booze, Drugs, Wife

Bah. Buy a real bike and ride it. I have about $9,000 in the Bandit, and that's as far as I'd take it. Anything that requires appearance "mods" is not for me. It's all about the ride.

I used to wonder about "you guys" that buy a bike then spend tons more on mods and thought why didn't they just buy a better bike to begin with. But now I realize that it doesn't really matter what bike you buy , you will probably still spend more money improving it ! Especially with cruisers and touring bikes.

I'm broke as hell because of buying my bike, but I ride it every day and can't get enough... money well-spent in my opinion.

I always try to take a ride just before I make a payment.

Kinda reminds me of what I'm spending my money on.

I spend all my money on bikes, women and booze.
I just waste the rest.

I feel its like that with any vehicle when someone considers it a hobby/passion rather than a means of getting around. I do the same thing with my car to an extent. I've only had my bike for two weeks and already am looking for ways to spend money on it (integrated rear signal LED, flush mount, fender eliminator, etc).

Default my thoughts

When I married my wife I did so as I liked what i was getting same as a new bike I bought it as it was what I wanted, after 33 yrs I really still don't want to up grade her and she is still a reasonable ride, to much bling and you lose the plot.....

I had my bike in for the first service last week, and I ran into the salesman who sold me the bike.

"How do you like it."
"Excellent. Worth EVERY Penny."

Actually my only expenses have been necessary ones. My GF wanted to go to Niagra Falls, so I needed saddlebags, a Sissy Bar, a windshield. (Engine Guards were all my fathers doing however.)

Boots, three jackets, leather vest, three pairs of gloves, 4 helmets, chaps, etc, etc....................$1,800.00 plus the $2,300.00 for extras, oh and the Kuryaken mirrors I just bought, takes me to about 60% of the total value.

I have you all beat. Bought mine for $4395 have spent another $5000 including gear. Most of that was from insurance though so only about $1000 out of pocket from me.
