Default Loud pipes, a new twist

On my way to work today, I'm setting at a red light waiting for the light to change.
Out of the corner of my eye I see the light change to yellow for the crossing traffic, and almost immediately I hear the unmistakable sound of a very healthy V8 winding up.
I look to my left, and see a black Camaro about a half a block down coming on strong.
The light turns green for me, and I count a full 3 seconds off in my head, before the Camaro inters the intersection. 3 seconds may not seem like much, but that's about the same amount of time my V Strom needs to go from 0, to 60.
I don't know how fast this idiot was going when he blew the intersection, but when he hit the dip on the exit, he had all 4 tires off the ground about 18 inches.
I sure am glad he had loud enough exhaust that I heard him coming, I don't think I'd make a very good Camaro hood ornament.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not promoting loud exhaust, but this is one case where it sure saved my bacon.
