Cool Admitting mistakes...

Wanting a newer bike for some time, I really started noticing all motorcycles around me when driving. Anymore as a driver I actually scan for bikes in traffic!

I remember over the years damn near killing at least two bike riders out on the highway because of cold in-attention to them.
The one that stuck with me however;

A lone rider (I believe a GoldWing, CA plate) on I-80 headed West in Nevada outside Winnemucca.

I simply just did not check mirrors or look over the shoulder and took the left lane to pass the truck ahead. Welp there was the bike headed for the gravel! I sped away in an attempt to make room for the rider and machine. God was with us both that day, the obviously expeienced rider quickly recovered.
Being who I am, I waited ahead for the rider to catch up and let me have what for.

He slowly cruised by, I mouthed "I am so sorry" as he glanced over gave me a thumbs up waved and slid quickly away. I'll never forget this, I almost killed this person at 75 mph...

Of course I dunno what he was thinking ,yet no visible anger, no fist shaking or middle digit.... Whomever that rider is\was, is the kind of rider I will be...relaxed, calm and patient!

This story was the first thing I thought as I rolled the throttle on my new bike down and headed home from the dealer.

"Fear of the bike is waining-Attention is not!"
