Default first wreck

i had my first wreck this past sunday (6.27.04). i was in a neighborhood, leaving a friends' place. he was behind me in his car. the neighborhood is a developing neighborhood so there was some loose gravel around. i was going around a curve goin abt 20 mph when my back tire cut loose on me and the bike slid out from under me.

had to go to the hospital and the damage wasn't too bad..

broke my left wrist, and broke my clevicle bone on my right shoulder into 14 pieces. had some road rash on my knees and elbows.

thank god i didn't do any other damage to my legs!

it was really scary...

the bike's fine- just had my sliders put on the day before so not that much damage.

That sucks. Glad it wasn't any worse. That clavicle may take some time. Hope you heal fast. Now you get to suffer from PMS as well! Parked Motorcycle Syndrome!

Get well soon!!

Now you need to get frame sliders for YOU! You mount them on your knees and elbows, I think.

Just goes to show you, a crash can happen at any time. At least you had someone there to take you to the hospital! I have broken more bones in small crashes than big ones. I just crash in T6 at Infineon about a month ago. Got off at between 80 and 90 MPH. Twisted foot, two slight vertebrae fractures. That was it! Was able to come back and run my race less than an hour later, and still run a race two weeks ago at Thunderhill. Got lucky.

I crashed on the street before back in '89, going maybe 30-40 mph, and had the same damage that you did. Broken collarbone, hellacious concussion, minor rash where the gloves and jeans wore through. But, the safety gear worked. I basically had to throw it all out after that crash though.

Don't take it too hard, man. It can happen to the best of us.

My parking lot slip happened on sand. Not good for a quick reaction when a bonehead pulls out without looking.

By the way, from what I hear, frame sliders = frame benders. Might wanna get that checked. Good to hear that you are ok, though.

I've had one bad experience with frame sliders. Someone knocked over my bike and it didn't bend the frame, but it cracked the fairing all way down the side. Luckily she stuck around and called the cops and her insurance company ended up paying for it.
