Default Nearly ate [dropped] it today on U S Highway 281

After leaving work and fueling up today [02/22/07] I nearly dropped my bike. Red light goes to green we all start off Weatherford College truck [truck-driving school/ student drivers], a car, 2 pickups, another car, me, a SUV, and another pickup.

Just as I clear the intersection the college truck stalls and break lights from the vehicles flowering the student driver [no break lights from the truck] I grabbed the front break reaching for the back when my bike’s front tire started to slide and lean left . I did the no-no [a leg out pole-vault] stood the bike up and stopped before I hit the car in front of me without getting rear-ended by the SUV behind me.

The intersection and some-ways out from it is what the state calls asphalt bled highway. In other words sometime last summer when the temperature was above 100 the asphalt/tar got hot enough that the rock/gravel pushed under the surface of the asphalt/tar, this has very little traction.
