Default Today I learned.......

When you wear a full face helmet, and flip the visor down.

Make sure that there are no bees in the helmet!@

Very interesting is the result!.
Makes it hard to look at the traffic!.

And when riding, keep the visor down, because bees (and most other flying critters) are robust - many survive the initial impact and manage to crawl (somewhat dazed) around your face.

Today I learned what a Stainless steel coffee mug can do to a windshield when it is kicked up by a truck.

Today I learned that....

I can order parts from the US, and get them shipped to Australia - BEFORE I get a return phone call from an Australian Distributor!.

Got Goodridge brake lines from JP cycles before local distributor returned message - and he didn't have any numbers for them. By this time, they had arrived, and were fitted - from the US.

Got a Repair manual from repairmanual.com before the local Suzuki dealer did!

Got a Techlusion TFI unit from Ebay, before anyone responded to my emails.

Either the US wants my business, or others don't!

Frost covered mulch is as slick as ice.

I've got a 15 foot path of mulch in the back yard that leads up to a 12 foot ramp into my shed. While backing down the path this morning (23°F - -5°C) it was a bit slippery. It's ok though, I got the bike stuck upright in the mud at the bottom before it could fall... and how was your morning?

But a Procto usually wears rubber gloves ... a plumber doesn't.

Either way, there are places you just don't want to stick your fingers...

Today I learned that the Scottish guy who works here LOVES to talk to me when he's chewing food very loudly.

Another thing I learned today is that the name of this forum was changed to include "about motorcycling."

Default that communicators are safer...

Today my husband and I went for our first ride with our handsfree Collet helmet communicators (search by 'collet' for pics ) and I felt a lot safer! They worked well and we found we stayed a lot farther apart and talked each other thru what we were going to do more (like sharing road ice, traffic updates, checking traffic at intersections, need to stop, etc..). A safer, lower stress ride and a lot of fun too.... cold, but fun !

Recently I've learned that FLATS come more often than they use to. I've had 4 freaking tires replaced over the past 6 months from small objects. Been riding the same places/roads that I have been for the past few years.

What's the deal?

That when the exchange sever for our company goes down it generates more calls then if the the whole network is down. Freakin' e-mail.
