Default Stiff Gloves

Right after I bought my new bike (the seller threw in the helmet) I bought some gauntlet style gloves. They fit snugly, but they are too stiff, especially my clutch hand. The throttle hand is OK, but the lack of control I'm experiencing with the clutch is really bothering me. Finally, today, I took of the left hand glove and felt and rode a lot better.

Will the gloves loosen up with time? Is there something I can do t speed up the process, like we used to do with baseball gloves when I was a kid? Or should I just get new gloves? I do want to protect my hands, but I don't want my hand protection to put me in danger.

The gloves you have are built for warmth over feel. I have three types, thin joe rocket, with knuckle protectors but mostly soft suede type leather. These are great for warm days as you can feel everything. I am pretty sure they can take a modest amount of pavement and protect against rocks hitting the knuckles.
I have some patent leather ones, that are longer (gauntlet style) I can still feel pretty well with these , but they have to go over my jacket instead of in it. They are a bit warmer but not by much, they would protect better against a fall.
My final gloves are the alpine star winter style gauntlet gloves. THese things I can't feel anything with, and they are gortex, waterproof and damn expensive. But when you commute at 6 in the morning in southern california at 50 degrees (F) They keep my hands warm which helps with overall comfortability. I have worn them 10 times, and they are getting slightly better, but they are super thick, almost unbearable, but nice and toasty.

Try those thin ones, they are pretty good, and stylish. I am sure they will do fine, unless you spend a lot of time on the pavement.

I'm doing better with the gloves. I've been twisting them like wringing out a wash cloth, and that's loosening up the fingers. Also, I'm more used to the feeling of having the gloves on. It's still not comfortable, and at times I'm not happy with the control of the clutch, but if I don't wear them, I'll never get used to them.

you need to wear them ALL around, like breaking in new shoes. Keep them on as much as you can, and flex your fingers around ALOT. like even now, when your tpying, put them on and try to tpye, they will lossen up, everything does.
