I'm not sure if I learned anything other than be super cautious as usual. Was just heading home from work and pulled onto a small but busy-ish two lane highway. Got her up to 110 km. in an 80 so I was speeding a bit. Then I see an old fart in a truck way up ahead pulling out to pass a guy and heading straight for me. I slow her down, thinking the guy just doesn't see me. He'll see me and pull back in or give'er and fly by the other guy. Either way I'm slowed right down. What happens? Neither of the above. The dufus just pulls out to pass the other guy and continues right towards me as if I was,(u guessed it) INVISIBLE! I pulled over to the right as far as I could on pavement and basically stopped. The passing old guy finally pulled in just as he met me - still, I could have reached out and touched him before he did! He just never saw me. I run on high beams all the time too! A bit cloudy today but really not dark or anything. I just shook my head at him when he drove by - I was more concerned about getting over as far as I could out of his way. Weird thing was I am now used to this kind of %%%%%. I didn't even pull over for a ciggie!! Remember, you really are invisible!! jim |
